Cluster Fly Control Berkshire - DKG Pest Control are based in Wokingham & offer all forms of fly control & fly infestation eradication, this includes the installation of EFK's (Electronic Fly Killer's). There are many different pest fly species but the most commonly treated by us is the Cluster Fly which infest buildings by the thousands! Cluster flies can be effectively control with course spray insecticides or insecticide fogging machines. Other pest fly species such as the Fruit Fly - House Fly - Flesh Fly and Drain Fly usually require the removal of harbourage or breeding sites to effectively remove the fly infestation on a more long term basis. Rotting vegetable waste or other decomposing organic matter can be an ideal egg laying site for many fly species and the flesh flies look to reproduce in decomposing meat and fish, If this material can be removed and the area kept clean often it can stop the return of the fly infestation completely!

Fly Control Treatment
There are a number of different treatments to consider depending on the type of fly species present, the infestation location and who may be exposed to any chemical treatment. It is essential to identify the fly species present to be able to identify what they are living from and why the flies are there. Without finding the source a treatment is unlikely to be successful as more larvae will be present in the source of the fly infestation. This isn't the case for cluster flies.

What are the most common Flies to infest a house?
Cluster Flies are the most common fly we are called to treat. In summer and early autumn cluster flies usually live in fields but as the climate cools the cluster flies search for hibernation sites, these hibernation sites are usually in hollow voids (lofts) or any nooks and crannies in buildings, this is when cluster fly infestations in our homes will occur. Cluster fly infestations do not pose a risk to human’s health, nor does a cluster fly infestation mean the property is dirty, they are purely in your home to overwinter.
Does having flies in my house mean something is dead?
No, not always! There are many different species of flies which enter our homes, they can be caused by drain issues, bins, blocked gutter, dead rodents or the flies may just have come in to roost over winter. It is essential to identify the fly species causing the infestation before any treatment is carried out.
Do flies spread diseases?
Yes. Flies have the nasty habit of excreting and regurgitating their food any time they land on a surface. In doing so, they are believed to transmit over 65 diseases to humans, including typhoid fever, leprosy, cholera, yaws, anthrax, tularemia, dysentery and tuberculosis.
How long do flies live?
House flies can survive for around 30 days in their adult form, the warmer the climate, the better their chances of survival become, but they usually prefer temperatures around 23 to 26 °C.
