Mole Catcher in Snelsmore Common RG14

Mole Catcher in Snelsmore Common RG14 – Our mole catchers Dean Gibbs and Robin Gibbs were checking the mole traps on a local contract in Snelsmore Common today when amongst the 7 moles they had caught one of them had odd markings on it.

Dean has caught moles that are similar in colour to these in the past from a field at Wokingham Equestrian Centre but hadn’t seen one for some years. He has sent the images to the BTMR (British Traditional MoleCatchers Register) and they haven’t seen any with this colour pattern apart from the ones caught by Dean in the past!  Mole pelt can vary widely from a Silvery Grey colour to dark Brownish Black with the odd albino (pale Yellow) mole being caught each year, but the ones our mole catchers have caught are mainly the usual colour but support a Yellow / Orange chest and stomach and a Mohawk!
